CALLPAL LLC: OUR STORY

Every movement begins with an idea, and ours is very simple: as human beings, open communication, expression, and togetherness should be free to each and every one of us. This philosophy drove our founders to begin building something very special in the Fall of 2014 – a completely new way to experience the phone call.

Initially working from adjacent apartment balconies in Miami, our original team consisted of 5 members devoted to bringing this idea to life. By February 2015, a working prototype of the world’s first telecom-multimedia platform was complete. This platform allowed users to share content in real-time (articles, photos, videos, and more) during calls. It also made it possible to call anyone, anywhere in the world (even landlines) completely free. But this was only the beginning.

We realized the power of this new platform came with a clear responsibility to promote healthy communication. In a time when technology can often distract us from making real connections, we believe in bringing the focus back to the conversation. We call this “going back to basics”. Therefore, our content has one purpose – to enhance the conversation. This content is catered to your unique interests, location, and the things your pals are sharing, ensuring you receive content that engages you. Whether you’re inviting a local friend to dinner or catching-up with a family member abroad, our content will be informative and relevant to both of you. By nature, we achieve our full potential when we are free from limitations, and those limitations often lie in the tools we use. Such is the case with existing technology, which has restricted people from exploring these content-rich experiences – until now.

How did we achieve this? The solution was right in front of us. By placing the phone in front of our users (by using headphones, a Bluetooth headset, or speaker-phone), we liberated the call screen, seamlessly allowing the display of our content showcase in real-time. The implications of doing this are revolutionary. Imagine a conversation between you and your friends, making plans for the evening. Our platform allows everyone to be a part of the conversation (our Group Calls support up-to 50 people at the same time). A list of great local events happening that night begins to scroll across your screen. With the tap of a button, you share this content with your friends, and it instantly appears on their devices. This is the evolution of the phone call as we know it. Furthermore, the health benefits of using a hands-free device are well-documented, with study after study confirming the adverse effects of prolonged exposure to cell radiation. Our platform drastically reduces this exposure, resulting in an overall safer experience. Identifying and solving these challenges is essential to our role in promoting “healthy communication”.

When an idea has the power to bring people together, it spreads very quickly. In August of 2015, CallPal LLC was incorporated, and by September of the same year, we were moving into our first office. We were diligent in ensuring our core philosophies were felt in the design of our workspace, preferring an open layout conducive to communication, creativity, and the sharing of ideas. Our team created the CallPal Tree, which now overlooks our office from the tallest wall of our central hub. Each cluster of leaves symbolizes a different continent, and collectively, they form the world – the community in which we all call “home”. “The Tree” became a representation of us, with all of its leaves (unique as they are) connected by a strong network of branches. This is only the first chapter of our story, and we can’t wait to see where this exciting journey takes us next!
